European Union Subcommittee gathered in Brussels
Transport, Environment, Energy and Trans-Europe Network Subcommittee meeting that is arranged by Turkey-EC Partnership Council, was performed in Brussels on 25 February 2008.
Under the chairmanship of European Union General Secretary Ambassador Oğuz DEMİRALP, a committee consists of ; Suat Hayri AKA, Deputy Undersecretary of Ministery of Transport, General Directorate of Civil Aviation, General Directorate of State Railways, General Directorate of Land Transport and Undersecretariat of Maritime Affairs, attended to the seventh meeting of EU Transport Subcommittee.
In the presentation performed by General Directorate of Civil Aviation, the developments in the last one year in cohesion of legislation and administrative capacity were mentioned. Besides developments in civil aviation, constructive nature of legislation activities of GDCA was emphasized by European Commission. While information regarding draft regulations has been provided in the meeting, it has been mentioned that coordination activities with EC would continue.
In the area of aviation security, National Program and update of Training and Quality Control Programs were emphsized. Additionally, it was mentioned that security inspection performed by ICAO in İstanbul Atatürk Airport had been completed with success and that important developments had been achieved in applications.
