Turkey and Spain has agreed on new flights.....

The civil aviation authorities of Turkey and Spain has agreed on increasing the number of flights between two countries.

The number of weekly flights increased to 20 between two countries with the Memorandum of Understanding, which has been signed by Dr. Ali ARIDURU, General Director of Civil Aviation and Manuel Batista PEREZ, General Director of Spain Civil Aviation on 11 June 2008.

The parties have also agreed on adding 3 new destination points whose names will be declared later and including two articles, regulating the  multiple designation and flight safety and aviation security matters.

According to this Memorandum of Understanding, the parties can designate more than one  airline companies to perform scheduled flights and these companies can perform flights to defined destination points in Turkey and Spain.

The civil aviation authorities have also agreed on cooperation in the areas of ground handling services, aircraft maintenance, training, engineering and other technical subjects.

The number of negotiations of GDCA, which is continuing its efforts to increase flight numbers and to have new international destination points, incresed to 11 after this negotiations with Spain.

Within this year, GDCA had negotiations with Syria, Sri Lanka, Austria, Kyrgyzstan, Singapore and Bahrain, Russia, Iran, Uzbekistan, New Zealand and signed agreements. GDCA is performing negotiations with two countries in each month and is planning to reach 13 countries in the first six months, which is the number of last whole year.
